Compostion
State-of-the-art multi-layer manufacturing technology is used to produce Raposteel cut-off wheels. The individual raw material components, fibre glass fabric, wetted grain and 2 steel sheets are alternately put into a mould, with each layer precisely levelled-out in order to form a highly homogenous body ready for pressing.
Subsequently, the combined multiple layers are subjected to high pressure in Europe’s largest grinding wheel press. Clamped on special hardening fixtures, the curing takes place at an average temperature of 180° C.
Depending on the required application, Raposteel cut-off wheels ensure highest stability and bursting speeds with a reduced wheel thickness.
The tapered design, with the thin edge of the taper starting at the bore, is an additional advantage of the Raposteel Light cut-off wheel.
Continuous research and development allow us to offer our clients specific solutions for their particular cut-off applications, thereby considerably reducing the client’s overall cutting-off costs. |
